Abstract
Introduction. The process of physical education of students in higher education institutions is organized depending on the state of health, level of physical development and readiness of students. Research by many authors shows that the decline in physical activity of young people reduces their level of physical health and physical fitness. Therefore, it is important to study the self-assessment of physical development of students with different levels of physical fitness. The aim is to study the self-assessment of physical development of students of 1-3 courses with different levels of physical fitness in the process of forming individual physical culture. Materials and methods: analysis and generalization of data of scientific and methodical literature and sources of the Internet; sociological methods; psychological and diagnostic methods; pedagogical methods; methods of statistical data processing. Results. The level of physical fitness of students according to the results of motor tests is determined. The individual profile of the physical "I" of the individual was studied with the help of the test-questionnaire E.M. Bochenkova "Self-description of physical development". It was found that young people with a high level of physical fitness have higher scores on the scale of "global physical self", "physical activity", "athletic ability". Girls with a high level of physical fitness have higher scores on the scale of "endurance", "global physical self", "appearance". Boys and girls with low and medium levels of physical fitness have low scores on the scale of "physical activity" and "athletic ability". Young people with low and medium levels of physical fitness also have low self-esteem. Conclusions. The results of motor tests showed that boys have a low level of physical fitness, and girls - medium. The general level of "Physical Development Self-Assessment" is much lower among boys and girls with medium and low levels of physical fitness compared to students with high levels of fitness.
