Abstract

The world is constantly changing, and life does not stand still. The same can be said about education. What was new and modern yesterday is no longer relevant today. Digital age students need completely new approaches to learning that include multimedia. Children have completely different requests and needs. Unfortunately, a rather disturbing trend in this, we can see a decrease in interest in reading. After analyzing the research of the Ukrainian Institute of the book "Reading in the context of media consumption and life design", we can safely say that today children do not read, moreover, they are not interested and instead of the book children choose television and social networks. This, in itself, is already a global problem, as it contributes to the decline of literacy among children. The teacher of the 21st century has a difficult task – to maintain the interest of his wards in learning, to give high motivation for self-development and knowledge of the world. However, it is not easy to compete with such interesting and attractive gadgets. But the question is, should we compete and fight them? Maybe it's better to turn them into a powerful learning tool? Such a tool, without exaggeration, can be called the Internet, where you can find many interesting and useful services and online programs that can be used to radically change the learning process. It's also a great way to increase students' interest in reading. Unfortunately, the use of comic book technology is becoming more and more popular among teachers, unfortunately, mostly foreign ones. Today, this method of teaching and forming students' reading competence is still completely unexplored, however, the first results of those who still tried to explore this technology are quite impressive and indicate the effectiveness of its use, including in primary school. Working with comics is a whole new look at learning to read. The use of this technology makes it possible to promote the development of students' motivation to read, involving them in reading activities, which is based on student initiative and independence in the selection of texts for reading and interpretation of what is read
