Abstract
This study is devoted to the methodological aspects of teaching probability theory and mathematical statistics (TIMS) in the context of online learning as the main toolkit of many specialties in the economic field. By analyzing the normative, mathematical and methodological literature, the peculiarities of the study of TIMS by students of economic profile in order to determine the application of methods of this science for further educational and professional activities. The historical perspective of the development of TYMS is presented, which is a necessary element to increase the level of motivation of students to educational and cognitive activities. The elements of the methodical system and educational interaction of students of economic profile in the process of studying TYMS in the conditions of online learning are described. Among them are: a set of conditions that activate cognitive motives (persuasion, interest, delegation, consolidation of a positive impression); creation of problem situations; solving classic TIMS problems from the simplest to the most complex; introduction of tasks of applied orientation and use of interdisciplinary connections; use of Zoom, Google Meet, Moodle platforms at different stages of learning activities (board, hand, grouping, tests, Google Forms, not only teacher presentations, etc.). It has been substantiated and experimentally tested that this technology is effective in the context of online learning. The perspective of the research is that the stated theoretical provisions and practical recommendations can help teachers in building the educational process of studying TIMS in new conditions (online learning, blended learning format, distance learning).
