Abstract

The article examines the trends in the development of households in Kyiv as a component of social security of the city's economy. It has been found that the economy of urban households is closely linked to the economy of the city. Based on the comprehensive analysis, it is established that the positive trends in household development both in Kyiv and in Ukraine in general for the period 2016-2020 are the following: growth of the average size of households in Kyiv and growing share of households with children in Kyiv. It was found that the total resources per household in the city of Kyiv for the period 2016-2020 increased 2.19 times, and in Ukraine as a whole, respectively 1.99 times. Cash income per month per household in the city of Kyiv for the period 2016-2020 increased by 6.6%, of which wages per household increased by 13.0%. The total monthly expenditures per month per household in the city of Kyiv for the period 2016-2020 increased by 1.55 times, per household in Ukraine increased by 1.66 times. According to the structure of expenditures, households in Kyiv spent 42.6% on food in 2020, and households in Ukraine on average 48.1% of total aggregate expenditures. In 2020, the total consumer expenditures of households in the city of Kyiv on non-food goods and services amounted to 49.0%, and households in Ukraine as a whole accounted for 39.8%. Expenditures in non-food goods and services in Kyiv exceeded expenditures by 9.8% than in households in Ukraine as a whole. Resources of Ukrainian households are spent mainly on meeting the basic needs of Ukrainian families in food, utilities, clothing and footwear and necessary medical and educational services, leaving for savings and savings of only 5.6% (2020) of total resources. It can be concluded that the reduction of food expenditures and the growth of expenditures on non-food goods and services in households in Kyiv is a sign of increasing the standard of living of the population in the capital of Ukraine. Calculations of the level of social security on a single indicator-indicator "The share of food expenditures in consumer spending of households, percent" shows the growth of this indicator over the years, given that this indicator is a disincentive, increasing the value of this indicator negatively affects the level social security of the city.
