Abstract
The article analyzes the materials of the camp magazine «Nasha Zorya», which covered some aspects of life and life of interned Ukrainian soldiers of the UPR Army in the camps Strzałkowo and Kalisz during the second half of 1921 – and until April 1923. It has been established that the steadfast faith of the Ukrainian army in victory and the resilience of the camp in overcoming daily difficulties, as well as nostalgia for the homeland and waves of doubt, when under the unbearable burden of domestic problems it seemed that all hopes of restoring Ukrainian statehood were lost. Throughout its existence, «Nasha Zorya» has felt the moral and financial support of the campers, who donated to the magazine a fraction of their hard-earned funds. The camp and camp institutions also helped a lot – holding various cultural and artistic events (theatrical performances, parties and concerts) and transferring the proceeds to the publishing house «Nasha Zorya». At the same time, despite this support, the collected funds were barely enough to make ends meet and publish the next issue of the magazine, and this was the reason for some cases of non-compliance with the order of publication of «Nasha Zora». But thanks to the enthusiasm and joint efforts of a group of like-minded people, who united in a small editorial board of this publication, all obstacles were successfully added and the publication of the magazine continued. The analysis of materials on the history of the camp everyday life of the Ukrainian army gives every reason to say that they have long served as a unifying factor for the campers, strengthening their morale. At the same time, they had a powerful influence on the formation of the national consciousness of interned soldiers of the UPR Army, strengthening their faith in the liberation of Ukraine from Bolshevism.
