Abstract

The article characterizes the place and the role of the scientific and moral approach in the scientific understanding of the problem of students’ cognitive interest development by media tools in the process of teaching a foreign language for professional purposes. A set of peculiarities of the scientific and ethical approach to the development of students’ cognitive interest regarding the use of media tools in the study of a foreign language for professional purposes has been highlighted. The content of teaching a foreign language for professional purposes using media tools has been highlighted. The organizational and pedagogical conditions for the development of students' cognitive activity for studying a foreign language for professional purposes have been characterized. A block diagram of the semantic component of the process of developing students’ cognitive interest by media tools in the process of teaching a foreign language for professional purposes has been developed. The outlined block diagram contains a methodological component (the development of students’ cognitive interest in the process of teaching a foreign language for professional purposes, combining the actual goals, objectives, and content of the discipline and media, based on the conceptual foundations of the scientific and moral approach). The procedural component consists in the development of students’ cognitive interest by studying the basics of a modern foreign language for professional purposes, increasing the level of linguistic and professional training for communicative activity. As well as a technological component, which enables the use of media tools in organizing teaching a foreign language for professional purposes in the process of developing students’ cognitive interest. The authors’ examples of conducting classes in a foreign language for professional purposes with the use of media tools (Slides, Padlet, Kahoot, Prezi, YouTube, Pinterest, TED Talks, etc.) have been provided
