Abstract

The article examines the problem of content, structure and manifestations of constructive behavior as a criterion for establishing a balance between established values, meanings and current social challenges. The significance of constructive behavior of an individual in the conditions of transformations of social relations has been proved. The content of the constructive behavior category, its leading features, including productivity, functionality and fruitfulness, from the standpoint of semantic universalization has been explained. The author’s structural-procedural model of constructive behavior is presented and the content of this model is analyzed. The content of cognitive, motivational and emotional-volitional components of constructive behavior of an individual has been revealed and their synergistic interaction has been emphasized. Embodiment of constructive behavior in stable and crisis (transitional) periods of life have differentiated. During a stable period, the embodiment of constructive behavior occurs through the implementation of life plans, vocations, development and modification of individual strategy of self-realization, use and enrichment of personal potential. In the conditions of a person's experience of the crisis, their constructive behavior is embodied in the revision of life values and behavioral patterns, restructuring of self-attitude and self-expression, changes in behavioral strategies and tactics, and the development of personal flexibility. The leading results of the systematic construction and implementation of constructive behavior of an individual in a stable period of life are the achievement of personal efficiency and authenticity, self-improvement, coordination of personal identity. Consequences of successfully overcoming a life crisis by a person in line with behavioral manifestations are recognized as fixed constructive coping strategies, increased tolerance for social uncertainty, and personal growth.
