Abstract

The theoretical foundations of public administration functions were studied and their definitions were summarized. The author's definition of the concept of "functions of public administration" is formulated as directions of public administrative activity aimed at achieving the goals and fulfilling the tasks of the state. The views of domestic scientists on the content of the system of general functions of state administration have been identified and summarized. The author's approach to the composition of the system of general functions of public administration, which includes: planning, organization, analysis, forecasting, regulation, coordination and control, is outlined. The essence of the mentioned functions of state administration is analyzed and the author's understanding of their definition is outlined. It was concluded that public administration can be successful only if a set of general functions is implemented.
