Abstract
The article deals with the history of the formation and change of the canon of Ukrainian literature of the 1920s and 1930s under the influence of “The Executed Renaissance” anthology, the series of the same name and the “Our Twenties” series. The anthology of the works of “The Executed Renaissance” by Yu. Lavrinenko, banned in the Ukrainian SSR, was perceived in the 1990s as a canon and became a part of the nation-making narrative. The literary series of publications “The Executed Renaissance” presented the authors (or texts) that Yu. Lavrinenko bypassed, and thus it expanded and problematized the canon. The “Our Twenties” series, covering the genres of literary marginal, offered a completely different vision of this period, turning it from ideologically significant to popular. So not only the canon of literature is undergoing reform, but also the image of this literature is changing in public memory.
