Abstract

Classical dance today remains one of the most effective systems for the harmonious development of the dancer's locomotorium. The potential of this dance is actively used in some sports events. Objective. To analyze the evolution of classical dance in the context of the development of the dancer and athlete in the historical aspect. Methods. Analysis of special literature, comparisons, and analogies. Results. The main stages of the classical dance system formation and development are analyzed; the role of classical dance in the development of a dancer and athlete is determined. It is noted that classical dance was formed as a canonized system of expressive means of choreographic art. The analysis of the historical stages of classical dance formation led to the conclusion that it absorbed the traditions of Italian, French, and Russian schools, developed through the use of innovative searches in physical education and sports, and became an integral part of the training of athletes in complex coordination sports events.
