Abstract

S. Kahamlyk's book is devoted to the representation of the Ukrainian Orthodox hierarchy of the early modern period in intellectual and spiritual dimensions. The author formulated personal constructs: "church elite", "spiritual dimension", "intellectual dimension", "Mohyla intellectual space"; typological commonalities are defined, which make it possible to draw a social portrait of the national hierarch. This topic expands the framework of the contemporary humanitarian space, fills the era with a powerful segment of social life, its specificity and trends that were of fateful importance for the Ukrainian ethnic group.
