Abstract
The problem of co-operation of family and school as a mean to increase educational potential of parents is considered. Basic attention is paid on the issues of increasing the pedagogical culture of parents of junior schoolchildren through realization of the informatively-elucidative work with them in the process of co-operation with school. Pedagogical culture of family is examined as an index of its general culture in which experience of domestic education is represented in combination with scientific knowledge. Pedagogical culture determines the type, style and methods of parents’ conduct in upbringing activity. Forms and methods of work with parents are characterized; the importance of interactive methods is substantiated. These methods provide organization and development of dialogic intercourse of participants, their mutual understanding, promote co-operation in solving general, but meaningful for each problems; the rules of co-operation between teacher and parents are exposed. The essence of methods of play that are built on the principles of democracy and collaboration is ascertained, the main object in game — mutual relations of personalities, concrete situations of paternal-children’s relations are revealed. The methods of gaining knowledge, abilities and skills are provided as bases of trainings. This form of elucidative work is oriented at: exposure and working out problems that parents have in the upbringing of their child; expansion of their experience of co-operating with children on the basis of adopting the new models of conduct and relations; forming the parents’ aspiration to promote their theoretical and practical preparation to upbringing the child.
