Abstract
Despite the war, profound socio-political and socio-economic reforms are currently being carried out in Ukraine. Our country is going through a long stage of the dying out of centralized and distributive forms of management and the birth of economic relations in the sphere of labor inherent in the social-market model of state administration. At the same time, naturally, the roles and functions of the main subjects of entrepreneurial activity, including the state, the employer and the employee, are changing. This process inevitably includes occupational health and safety - an integral part of any production, requires strengthening of prevention of occupational diseases, etc. It was determined that objectively assessing the state of labor protection and combating occupational diseases in Ukraine, unfortunately, it should be stated that the current situation in this area of social relations cannot meet the needs of our society. The analysis shows that the economic condition of most enterprises does not allow to ensure the proper level of labor protection and prevention of occupational diseases, as provided by the current legislation. Occupational safety is adversely affected by the catastrophic aging of fixed assets, the growing number of physically obsolete equipment, machines and mechanisms. At many enterprises, labor protection services are reduced or completely eliminated. The influence of branch ministries and other executive authorities on the state of this work has also weakened. Mostly because of this, accidents with accidents occur almost every other day in peacetime in Ukraine. One worker dies every 5 hours, and one person is injured every 10 minutes. An average of 200 workers are injured every day at the enterprises of the country, of which 5 die, 30 become disabled, and 22 are affected by occupational diseases. This study is devoted to separate issues regarding the improvement of the content, management and legal support of combating occupational diseases.
