Abstract

The article substantiates the issues of choreographers’ patriotic education at higher education institutions. The impact of professional knowledge on the general culture and worldview direction of higher education students is analyzed. The emphasis is placed on the main tasks of the higher choreographic school, which are focused on universal cultural values, the founders of which are the sources of national wealth. The issue of patriotic education of choreography students should include knowledge of Ukrainian history, language, and culture. Respect for the historical past, responsibility for the fate of the country, and a caring attitude to the national historical and cultural heritage, which contribute to the realization of the educational potential of students of higher choreographic education, are important. The article describes the formation of the education system on Ukrainian territory. The activity of Prince Konstantin Ostrozky, who founded a school that later became an academy, a printing house, and a cultural and educational center, was noted. It is emphasized that this activity contributed to the establishment of fraternities, and fraternal schools, and the development of book printing in the territories of ancient Ukraine. The publication emphasizes the important role of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in the social life of the population of Ukraine and its influence on the revival and attempts to build the Ukrainian state. Attention is paid to the legendary figure of the past, Metropolitan Peter Mohyla, who directed his efforts to the education of young people. Aspects of the influence of the Ukrainian spiritual and intellectual elite of the Mohyla era on the formation of a new style of thinking and lifestyle for the next time are highlighted. The ways of national consciousness and self-awareness development among student youth through the national idea and knowledge of the heroic past of the Ukrainian people have been revealed. The main aspects of national-patriotic education, which are based on national-cultural traditions and have the mental component of the ethnic heritage of the Ukrainian people, have been formed. The close connection of ancient education with the Cossack liberation movement is emphasized, which testifies to the strong civilizational background of our ancestors in the development of national education. New comprehension of archaistic and traditional views on folk dance protection and the formation of modern ethnocultural outlook on folk dance of the countries in the world is taken into account. Current topics of heroic and patriotic orientation are presented through choreographic art. The aspects of modern society development and the formation of a new ethnocultural worldview with its further popularization and translation into the modern creative space are taken into account.
