Abstract

The article is devoted to the coverage of the library and information resource of the Pedagogical Museum of Ukraine from the standpoint of its use for the study of historical and cultural heritage. The mission of the museum as a social institution is highlighted. It is noted that the museum is directly responsible for making information about its collections and funds freely available. The general organization of library and information resources, their purpose is considered. Emphasis is placed on the library and information resource of the Pedagogical Museum of Ukraine, which consists of thematic books collections. The technological scheme and basic principles of work with collections are offered. An example of the museum's publishing activity is given. The need to popularize and update the littleknown or forgotten works of scientists, teachers, educators of the past and the release of the publishing series «Pedagogical Re-publications». It is argued that the elaboration of the museum's funds in the form of catalogs of book museum collections contributed to their wide publication in the format of publications of the series «Library Fund of the Pedagogical Museum»
