Abstract

The article analyzes the opportunities provided by the use of biographical knowledge in the lessons of history, Ukrainian studies, and civic education for the development of students' social competencies. Social skills and attitudes are highlighted within the civic and historical educational field, the formation of which is facilitated by work with biographical materials and individual stories. It is noted that this work contributes to the identification of students as members of certain communities, citizens of Ukraine; helps to understand one's own values; build your strategies of behavior in conflicts, in interaction with people with different ideas and values, in situations of choice and decision-making, when experiencing critical situations; promotes awareness of the value of a person and his life, respect for experience, life position, way of life, opinions of other people
