Abstract

Abstract. The disruption of the planned process for a long-term training of children's and youth sports schools’ trainees due to lockdowns and the war in Ukraine caused a failure in the systematic mastery of the necessary skills. Current trends in the development of basketball indicate a lag in certain types of training (theoretical, technical, tactical, psychological, physical) as to the individual level of fitness of each player of the relevant age category and gender, as well as in the integrated training of youth basketball teams as a whole. The study of the peculiarities of the competitive activity of young female basketball players will contribute to the generalization of the influential factors of the effectiveness of competitive activity. The analysis and interpretation of the results will facilitate to the correction of the educational and training process of young female athletes in basketball. The aim is to identify, analyze and substantiate the most influential factors of the effectiveness of the young female basketball players’ competitive activity based on the results of their performance in the European Girls' Basketball League championships in the 2022/2023 season. Research methods: analysis and generalization of data from scientific and methodological literature and informative data from the Internet, content analysis, methods of mathematical statistics. Results. The 16 technical and tactical indicators of efficiency of competitive activity of eight teams-participants of the final tournament of the European Girls' Basketball League (EGBL) in the season 2022/2023 in the age category U-16 are generalized and analyzed. The quantitative ratios of wins/losses and points scored/conceded by the EGBL participating teams for 16 games for the teams that took 1-4 places and 21 games for the teams that took 5-8 places were determined. Conclusion. The significance of the influence of the main indicators of the realization of shots (two-point, three-point, penalties) and rebounds in defense and offense on the competitive result reflected in the standings is found, which is substantiated by qualitative statistical indicators (interceptions, losses, block shots, contribution of points by substitute players). No linear dependence was found in the ratio of wins/losses and points scored/conceded by the EGBL participating teams.
