The article focuses on the relevance of the problem of ensuring organizational conditions for studing a section " the structure of words" in primary school in pedagogical theory and practice; the importance of studying the morpheme structure of a word by younger schoolchildren. There is a well-founded neсessity to prepare the teacher to work with this section as an important component of the process of ensuring the effective education of primary school pupils. The essence and meaning of the key concepts of morphemics are revealed: ending, base word, root, prefix and suffix. The linguistic and didactic aspect of the mentioned above problem is considered. The organizational and methodological foundations of the study of the section "the structure of words" in the practice of primary teaching of the Ukrainian language are described. The main tasks and stages of assimilation of the morpheme structure of the word in primary grades are defined. The main principles of teaching jounior schoolchildren the structure of words and word formations are described. Emphasis is placed on propaedeutic word-building work in the classes of the first and second years of studying. The method of students' study of concepts from the field of morphemics and word formation in 3rd - 4th grades is also presented. The main directions of the teacher's work in deepening the knowledge of junior schoolchildren about the morpheme structure of words and word formation during the study as parts of the language are revealed. The work on the significant parts of the word in the aspect of speech development of primary school pupils is considered. Pedagogical conditions for effective assimilation of the section “the word structure" by students as a basis for further learning of morphemics and word formation in middle and high school are indicated. A typology of grammatical exercises and tasks aimed at forming the basic concepts of morphemics in jounior schoolchildren has also been developed. Methodological recommendations for primary school teachers concerning organizing the study of the section “the structure of words" and forming students' grammatical abilities and skills in Ukrainian language lessons are indicated.
