Abstract

The article deals with the relevance of physical education for the younger generation, the essence of physical development of students through a conscious attitude, activity approach, development of competences and natural abilities. It reveals the role and significance of a Physical Education teacher in the New Ukrainian School. The article presents peculiarities of teaching and conducting PE lessons. It also highlights pedagogical views of Oleksandr Kostiantynovych Anokhin, Kyiv doctor-educator, the first certified teacher of Physical Education in the early 20th century, based on the teaching techniques for physical education and development of children.
