In Ukraine, the training of specialists in institutions of higher musical and pedagogical education is carried out on the basis of the competence approach, which determines the essence of state educational standards of the new generation, the content of educational programs. Future teachers of musical art, in addition to pedagogical competences, also acquire choir master's skills in order to carry out the musical development of schoolchildren by means of vocal and choral singing. Therefore, the educational process of conducting and choral training has its own specifics, and its organizational and methodological principles require further research and improvement. Thanks to choir master training, students acquire the ability to learn a vocal piece with a performing team. Therefore, the method of preparing them for work with vocal ensembles, methodical support of the educational process needs further development. The methodology of the research consists of a method of complex analysis, direct display, demonstration of choral techniques of working with a vocal work. An analysis of the score of the song "Oh, the snow is white on the mountain" was performed. O. Tokar, the means of musical expressiveness are characterized, the choir master techniques of their implementation in the process of ensemble performance are revealed. This will contribute to the formation of choirmaster competencies in the future music teacher. It is emphasized that, before starting to study a vocal-choral work with a performing team, the choir master must consider and characterize the poetic text, elements of musical expressiveness: rhythm, tempo, tonality, dynamics, timbre, harmony, with their help the composer expresses the state of the lyrical hero . The course of methods of working with a vocal ensemble will continue to require enrichment of methodological support.
