Abstract

This abstract describes the project of creating an allegorical map of the city of Przemyśl with a focus of attention on the Ukrainian People's House as a place of Polish-Ukrainian dialogue and cooperation and as a center for preserving the national and cultural identity of Ukrainians in Poland. The abstract discusses historical allegorical maps and cartography as art. The authors study the use of graphic images, in particular prints and cartographic calligraphic inscriptions, in creation of allegorical maps that emphasize the individuality and importance of the region or its ruler.
