Abstract

The article defines the goal and objectives of methodological training of future masters of music art. It states the significance of academic subject area "Methods of Teaching Qualification Subjects in Higher Education" in professional training of masters of music art. There is an analysis of scientific and methodical works on instrumental and performance training of students of pedagogical and traditional universities. The author shows the contents of methodological training of future masters of music art obtaining supplementary qualification of a musical instrument teacher; explores the issues of professional competence of a teacher of the main musical instrument – instrumental and performance, historical and theoretical, musical and educational, methodical, project and constructive, research, as well as functional ones; defines professional activity of a teacher of the main musical instrument; characterizes the scope of work and basic types of activities of teacher-instrumentalist, i.e. project and constructive, analytic and synthetic, organizational and pedagogical, as well as concert and performance. The article explores the structure of educational repertoire of student-instrumentalist consisting of scales, exercises, and etudes on different types of technique, polyphonic compositions, complex form works, and instrumental pieces; defines pedagogical feasibility of studying these works in terms of the main musical instrument class describing their importance in shaping the student’s performance technique; sets out recommendations on theoretical analysis of these works by the student; determines the types of analysis of instrumental works: artistic and pedagogical, historical and stylistic, musical and theoretical, as well as technical and performing; analyzes the specificity of mastering works under curriculum by students in different instrumental classes: piano, violin, wind, and folk instruments; defines the stages of student’s work on instrumental works; and presents recommendations for independent student’s work on music.
