Abstract

The issue of political correctness is not new and has never lost its relevance. Perhaps the most obvious manifestation of political correctness is the paraphrasing of discriminatory or simply offensive statements, and we can observe the largest number of such examples in advertising and news texts, since the vast majority of people maintain contact with the world through them. First, political correctness should be perceived as a principle that requires refusing to use in speech all those units that can offend the dignity of an individual, and resort to replacing them with neutral or positively marked ones. Second, the majority of ordinary Japanese citizens consider it necessary to refrain from discriminatory speech behavior, but oppose the introduction of excessive restrictions on public speech. Thirdly, in order to create a favorable psychological climate in the team (and not only for this purpose), it is necessary to timely monitor incorrect statements that may signal sexual harassment and other manifestations of harassment.
