Abstract

The YouTube online platform o ers many videos on historical topics. With the growing popularity of such content, there are more and more bloggers who do not create their own independent products but spread certain political narratives. In the conditions of the Russian-Ukrainian war, historical content became a tool for spreading not only factual information but also political ideas and a source of transformation of collective memory. The presented study reveals the in uence of the “Victory cult” both in the videos of pro-government bloggers from the Russian Federation and certain Soviet narratives in the works of opposition bloggers. Since the Ukrainian-language segment of YouTube is in a state of development, some bloggers are spreading myths that create a negative image of the Soviet Union. But it is quite easy to nd such an information product by Ukrainian authors, which is reliable, balanced, and based on modern historical research.
