Abstract
The relevance of the study is that solving the problems of the agricultural sector regarding climate change and its impact on this process, lack of workers, environmental degradation, demographic crisis and changes in consumer preferences is possible through digitalization, which has the potential to ensure the efficiency, sustainability and competitiveness of the agricultural sector of the economy . The purpose of the article is to substantiate scientific and methodological provisions and develop practical recommendations for the use of digital technologies and tools to ensure the efficiency of business processes of agrarian enterprises and the sustainability and competitiveness of the agrarian sector of the economy. Modern methods of scientific research are used, in particular: abstract-logical and calculation-constructive methods, statistical observation, grouping and comparison methods, tabular-graphic methods. The total volume of sales of agricultural pesticides in the EU countries and Ukraine during 2018-2022 was studied and the annual / volume of sales was determined to be about 340-360 thousand tons. Currently, the use of pesticides contributes to increasing yields, but has a detrimental effect on the environment and the health of the population. The application of digital solutions and technologies of "smart" or "precision agriculture" creates opportunities for dosed and controlled use of pesticides and fertilizers in the soil.Possible digital tools and areas of their application in agricultural production are presented, such as: telemetry (precision equipment); controlled traffic (fine-tuning of input); yield monitors (data collection); yield maps (decision support tool); variable rate technology (VRT); accelerometers (data collection); culture sensors (data collection); automatic guidance/GPS/GNSS (precision equipment); distributed ledger technologies (decision support tool); automated heat detection (data collection); virtual fencing (data collection); livestock tracking (decision support tool); soil maps (decision support tool); digital pasture management tools (data collection, precision equipment); satellite/drone images (data collection); precision scales (data collection); milking robot (precision equipment).
