Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the phenomenon of religious identity in terms of the possibility of its use in modern conscientious wars. The essence of the consciential war is considered as a war on the destruction of consciousness, which is carried out with the aim of ideological reprogramming of social (biological) systems, in which the higher class systems win. The main subject of conscientious weapons and conscientious war is identity, which is formed by values, categories, symbols, signs and worldviews constructed by people to understand their place in the world. The authors note that there is no such thing as a stable and single identity of a person: it changes with age, with the acquisition of personal experience, it is also influenced by belonging to a certain social group. One of the tasks of conscientious wars is the transformation of the structure of social memory, and it is religion that changes the thinking and behavior of large masses of people, whose spiritual values are transmitted from generation to generation over long periods of time. The sharp opposition of "own-foreign" is one of the main factors that combine religious identity and conscientious wars. In today’s globalized world, religion has become an effective tool of social and cultural mobilization, therefore one of the means of spiritual orientation can be defined as religious identity, which resists the system of values, symbols, myths and traditions presented in rites and rituals. The Conclusions emphasize that the very fact of the existence of a confessional identity contains a latent conflict, and if the religious identity is based on the sacralized idea of the superiority and uniqueness of one’s own religion, on the peculiarities of its spiritual mission, it acquires features of intransigence towards the positions of the Other and becomes an effective means of waging conscientious wars
