Abstract

The childhood period is the most important in the development of a person's psyche, since mental processes and internal qualities develop intensively during this time, and the personality is gradually formed. A necessary condition for the successful flow of all mental processes is the development of attention. A person has the seeds of attention in the prenatal period, and after birth, their development takes place from involuntary to voluntary. In preschool institutions, children's attention develops during classes and various types of activities. Physical education classes contribute to the realization of children's natural need for movement and the development of attention, as a necessary condition for the optimal flow of mental processes. The changing conditions of social life today (pandemics, wars, natural disasters, etc.), being in a shelter during times of anxiety lead to a sedentary lifestyle, affect the physiological and mental development of the child. This situation causes concern among doctors, practicing psychologists, and teachers. Highly spiritual, creative, intellectually developed individuals are needed for the reconstruction and development of the country. The analysis of the latest research and publications of domestic and foreign psychologists and scientists indicates the importance of attention development in children for mental development. The development of attention occurs with the help of adults: with the right organized regime, care, upbringing. The level of development of attention affects individual characteristics of the personality. It is difficult for an inattentive person to lead a conscious life, that is, spiritual self-knowledge, which is realized through the understanding of one's uniqueness, which consists in realizing oneself as a part of the Universe and fulfilling one's purpose on Earth. In this context, spiritual self-knowledge, as a component of a person's spirituality, develops through the reflection of one's feelings, thoughts, one's attitude towards others, the animal and plant world, one's activities and the transformation of negative psychological processes into positive ones.
