Abstract
In today's world, where global changes in climate, social structures and economic systems are taking place, the role of citizens is becoming crucial for the formation of a sustainable and adaptive urban environment. The article describes the development of cities in the context of the implementation of a multifaceted concept, which is characterised by an integrated approach to the evolution of urban areas, covering economic, social and environmental aspects. The peculiarities of implementing this concept for the city of Kyiv are determined in order to achieve economic efficiency and improve the quality of life of the population, while ensuring the conservation of natural resources and sustainable development for future generations.
