Abstract
The article examines the theoretical aspect of such phenomena as emotional intelligence, coping behavior, resilience. Attention is drawn to two models of the structure of emotional intelligence (D. Goleman and R. Bar-On). Thus, R. Bar-On's model of emotional intelligence considers five main factors of intelligence: internally personal; interpersonal; stress management; adaptability; general mood In this regard, according to the authors, the resource approach is relevant, which allows one to adapt to various life circumstances, despite the presence of a stressor. It is noted that in situations of life crises, the interaction of emotional intelligence and constructive behavior has a significant impact, since the ability to self-regulate helps to reduce the impact of stressful factors on mental health. "Sustainability" is singled out as one of the resources influencing the choice of constructive behavior. The components of vitality and its mechanisms are highlighted. Resilience is defined as the ability to adapt to difficulties while maintaining physical and mental health, is a coping resource and prevents the formation of internal tension in stressful circumstances. Empirical data on the influence of emotional intelligence on resilience and behavioral strategies chosen by young people in the realities of war are given. The relationship between emotional intelligence and problem-oriented coping behavior was revealed, which indicates that individuals with a higher level of emotional intelligence prefer problem-oriented coping strategies. Such a strategy helps to reduce stress because choosing productive coping behaviors provides an opportunity to influence circumstances and regain control. This emphasizes the role of emotional intelligence as an important resource in overcoming life crises through orientation to constructive actions. It has been empirically proven that individuals with high emotional intelligence cope better with stressful situations due to the ability to actively participate in their lives and use stress as a stimulus for personal growth.
