Abstract
The article reveals the literary and artistic life of Soviet Ukraine through diary entries and notes, which are partially preserved by the family of the poet, linguist, activist of the Ukrainian «shot revival» native of Cherkasy Mykhailo Dry-Khmara. The poet, as part of the group of Neoclassicists, was repressed, that is why only part of the records have survived. This valuable source reflects the political and art views of the writer, illustrating the creative and academic environment of the 1920s. Although not complete, the diary notes written by M. Drai-Khmara are quite open and are accompanied by numerous parts from periodicals. This allows us to trace the context of the literature and art life of Soviet Kyiv in the 1920s.
