Abstract
The study presents the results of research aimed at determining the strategic potential of implementing digitalization technologies in renewable energy production through the creation of renewable energy microgrids, as well as the impact of such technologies on the processes of evolutionary globalization. Renewable energy is a key element in ensuring sustainable development. The diversity of alternative energy sources and the large number of producers capable of supplying electricity underscore the need for the creation of small energy microgrids. The business model of smart microgrids considered in the study has the potential to stimulate the restructuring of the production system and electricity distribution markets. The study conducted structural, functional, systemic, and institutional analyses. The characteristics of digital platforms as an organizational form of smart microgrids were discussed. These platforms provide a synergistic effect by integrating small renewable energy producers into microgrids, forming a two-sector model for the energy industry. The study analyzes the mechanism for building energy systems based on the principles of "Industry 5.0," as well as aspects of accelerating global sustainable development goals.
