Abstract

The article explores personal adaptive potential as a key psychological resource that ensures effective coping with complex life situations in the context of social instability and military conflict. It demonstrates that a complex life situation is a multidimensional phenomenon that integrates objective, subjective, and sociocultural factors and depends on the individual’s perception of life difficulties. Theoretical generalization of current approaches to the interpretation of adaptive potential under conditions of social transformations and life challenges has been carried out. An interpretation of the adaptive potential of a person as an integral set of personality qualities that ensure its effective functioning in conditions of uncertainty, change and stress is provided. The concept of adaptive potential is revealed as an integral structure comprising cognitive, emotional, and behavioral components. External and internal factors that contribute to the realization of this potential a reanalyzed, including cognitive flexibility, emotional self-regulation, availability of social support, and awareness of one's ability to influence life events. It is argued that a high level of adaptive potential fosters constructive behavior, preserving mental well-being, personal growth, and developing coping strategies. It is defined that under prolonged crisis conditions, adaptive potential allows not only to survive the crisis but also to transform it into a resource for development. Practical recommendations for developing adaptive potential in complex life situations are formulated. The necessity of integrating these recommendations in to psychological practice to build personal resilience is emphasized. Prospects for further research are outlined in the direction of studying the dynamics of adaptive potential and developing targeted measures for its purposeful enhancement.
