Abstract

The presented work substantiates that at present the economic capacity of small communities is one of the main conditions for their sustainable development and social stability. In the context of modern economic transformations, decentralization and local government reform, the issues of ensuring the economic independence and stability of small communities are becoming particularly relevant. Small communities face numerous challenges, in particular, limited financial resources, lack of sufficient infrastructure, low level of economic activity and unemployment among the population. That is why the purpose of the presented work is to determine the features of the economic capacity of small communities, as well as to determine their development factors and the features of strategies for ensuring their sustainability. The main methods presented in the work are: logical method, analysis method, comparison method, deduction method, synthesis method, induction method, generalization method, comparison method, tabular and graphical methods. One of the key factors of economic capacity is the ability of a community to effectively use its resources, promote the development of entrepreneurship and attract investments. However, this requires the implementation of comprehensive strategies that include both infrastructure development and support for social initiatives, promoting the development of small and medium-sized businesses, as well as active cooperation with public and private partners. For small communities, important areas are the creation of a favorable environment for doing business, supporting local entrepreneurs, developing infrastructure and attracting external investments. Entrepreneurship should become the main engine of economic growth in communities, therefore it is necessary to stimulate the development of small and medium-sized businesses through support programs, training and access to financing. An important condition for economic capacity is the creation of partnerships and coalitions between communities, state bodies and business. This will allow attracting additional resources, improving infrastructure and creating new opportunities for community development. The work also states that success depends on how actively local residents will participate in the planning and implementation of economic initiatives. The formation of local initiative and support for civic activity are necessary conditions for ensuring long-term economic development.
