Abstract
The article defines the essence of the concepts: ‘training’, “professional training”, “professional training in higher education institutions”, “professional training”, “skill”, “performing skill”, “performing skill of future vocalists”, “vocal and performing training”, “vocal and performing skill”, “musical interpretation”. The paper presents the definition of ‘vocal and performing skills’, which is interpreted as a characteristic of a high level of vocal and performing activity of a singer, determined by the ability to deeply comprehend the content of vocal music, demonstrate their own interpretation through a perfect technical and artistic embodiment of the artistic and figurative content of a work in real sound. The paper analyses scientific works in the field of pedagogy, music and vocal pedagogy to highlight existing scientific developments on the chosen topic. The work highlights the developments on the selected issues by such domestic researchers as: Gmyryna S. V., Merezhko Y. V., Leontieva S. L., Petrykova O. P., Folomeeva N. A., Zhang Y. and others. The components of the performing skills of future vocalists are highlighted: singing technique, timbre colouring, stage and acting embodiment of the artistic and figurative content of the work, etc. The article provides methodological advice on the formation of the performing skills of future vocalists in the classroom: ‘Solo Singing’, “Speciality (Chamber Singing/Opera Singing)”, “Working with a concertmaster on vocal repertoire”, “Vocal Class” and others. The article focuses on working with higher education students in the process of developing their performing skills in terms of sound production, breathing, range, etc. The importance of stage and actor's embodiment of artistic and figurative content in public is emphasised, which is the final result of the performance activity of future vocalists and an indicator of the formation of their performance culture.
