Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the current state of development of the fine arts of the Roma people in the Ukrainian and European cultural space. An analysis of the results of the Roma Program of the International Renaissance Foundation and the Art Residency “Sorry, There Are No Numbers” is presented, and the work of artists of Roma origin is also shown. The artistic interest in Roma culture of artists of other nationalities and their joint interaction is emphasized. The research toolkit represents a set of anthropological research methods, which include analysis and synthesis, culturological method, art historical analysis and theoretical generalization. The scientific novelty of the research results lies in the fact that studying the topic of intercultural interaction in the modern art space has revealed a tendency to actualize the Roma narrative in society. The modern art space of Ukraine and Europe, which in the past decades was not marked by a surge of Roma fine art, in the last decade has been filled with the activities of cultural institutions and projects aimed at the development of artistic culture and intercultural dialogue based on tolerance and respect for national traditions. As a conclusion, we state that the modern space of Roma fine art demonstrates a close relationship with the general course of development of the European artistic space and contributes to the development of visual art in Ukraine. International forms of art by artists of Roma origin are filled with national content, their work contributes to the development of the artistic tradition of Roma culture, popularizes the cultural heritage of the Roma ethnic group, and helps draw attention to its identity. Key words: fine art, Roma, anthropology, culturology, society, intercultural interaction, artistic space.
