Abstract

The New Testament (Greek: Ἡ Καινὴ Διαθήκη, from Hebrew: חדשה ברית, lit. - new covenant, new agreement) is a multi-meaning term in Christianity: 1) the second part of the Christian Bible (after the Old Testament), a collection of 27 books written in Koine, presumably between 50 and 120 AD, containing information about the earthly life and teachings of Jesus Christ; 2) the idea of a new sacred covenant (see Covenant) between God and people, concluded through Christ, - the main source of Christian doctrine and ethics.
