Abstract

Ensuring the right of the child to grow up in a family environment involves a comprehensive study of the problem of family forms of alternative care, the readiness of individuals/families to place orphans and children deprived of parental care in their families. In particular, the article reveals the problem of researching the process of creating family forms of upbringing (SFV – foster families, family-type orphanages, families of guardians/caregivers). The purpose of the article is to present the methodology, techniques and tools for researching the process of creating SFV (from the intention to accept a child into one’s family to the fact of placement and adaptation of the child) to clarify the reasons and difficulties that slow down the development of family forms of upbringing, affect the quality of care and upbringing, to ensure the best interests of a child left without parental care.
