Abstract

The New Testament canon, New Testament canon — in Christianity — is a corpus of Bible texts (27 books) recognized by the majority of churches as having the highest sacred authority as divinely inspired, containing the biography and sayings of Jesus Christ, and the doctrinal, moral, and ritual-practical guidelines fundamental to Christian doctrine and ethics. It is a component of the biblical canon.
