Abstract

The article explores mediation as a modern tool for workplace conflict management that is gaining strategic importance in the context of increasingly complex employment relations. The introduction substantiates the relevance of the topic, emphasizing the need to preserve human capital and foster a culture of cooperation within organizations. The aim of the study is to analyze international experience with workplace mediation, assess its economic efficiency, and outline directions for expanding its implementation in Ukrainian organizations. The main part of the article provides a comprehensive overview of mediation as an innovative managerial practice. The author highlights its advantages over traditional methods of conflict resolution, including cost-effectiveness, confidentiality, voluntariness, and a focus on relationship preservation. According to the analysis of scholarly sources, mediation contributes to a positive working climate, reduces the level of conflict, and promotes a partnership-based organizational culture. The article presents an analysis of international experience in workplace mediation, summarizing the practices of the United Kingdom, the United States, the Baltic States, Italy, and global corporations. It offers examples of effective integration of mediation into HR strategies, the development of internal mediators, and the role of mediation in fostering a sustainable work environment. Special attention is given to the economic effects of workplace mediation. The article presents data from international studies demonstrating shorter dispute durations, reduced legal costs, lower compensation payouts and staff turnover-related losses, as well as improved management efficiency. The analysis consolidates these findings from key sources (SIDRA, CIPD, ADR Center, among others), providing relevant managerial insights. Specific recommendations for Ukrainian employers and HR professionals are proposed, including the creation of internal mediation hubs, partnerships with mediation organizations, training of change leaders, promoting mediation through economic justification, and incorporating it into corporate social responsibility policies
