Abstract

Skopych A.P. Redesign of the mobile game “CandyCrush”. Qualification work. Kyiv: Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, 2025. 68. The qualification thesis explores the impact of graphic design, 2D graphics, and UI/UX design on the creation and visualization of a mobile game in the casual match-3 genre — "Candy Crush." The focus of the study is the relationship between visual elements, players’ emotional engagement, and overall user experience. The research examines the specifics of adapting graphics to the needs of a mobile audience, particularly the requirements for intuitive navigation, interface aesthetics, and technical optimization for various Android screen formats. One of the research directions is the development of an interface based on principles of cognitive perception, color psychology, current trends in mobile game design, and composition. The UI/UX solutions are built on logical hierarchy, the use of recognizable visual patterns, and the balance of screen elements to enhance usability for both beginners and experienced users. Special attention is given to the creation of a visual mascot — the character Emma, stylized as a waitress and café owner, who serves not only as a narrative guide but also as a tool for brand development and emotional connection with the player. The role of the logo, identity, stylized 2D graphics, and game icons in shaping a recognizable visual style is also studied.
