Abstract

The qualification work examined the history and design features of dystopian books, including the example of The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. The work includes both a theoretical analysis and a detailed description of the practical implementation of the author's illustrated edition. The role of the illustrator in the reader's perception of the text was considered. The author also analyses the target audience of The Hunger Games and studies the design of analogues in the dystopian genre. Particular attention was paid to an in-depth analysis of The Hunger Games and the existing book cover design. The main design components and design concept of the book were also identified, with suggestions for improving the existing design. Based on this, illustrative material was developed taking into account the preferences of the target audience and stylistic unity. The results of the qualification work demonstrate the importance of book design as a storytelling tool.
