Abstract

Kyiv: Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, 2025 The final qualification design project in the specialty 022 "Design" (educational program "Graphic Design") is dedicated to the development of the visual design of Ransom Riggs' book "The House of Strange Children" using the technique of textile collage and digital tools, in particular Adobe Photoshop. The work consists of an introduction, two main sections, conclusions, a list of sources used and appendices. In the first section, I studied the evolution of book illustration in Ukraine, as well as current trends in the design of modern publications: from mixing various illustration techniques to the emergence of ultra—modern, interactive and socially important book formats. The second section contains information about developing your own design project — from considering the figurative structure of the novel and searching for stylistic analogues to creating illustrations and a visual concept for the book's design. This project combines manual techniques for creating book illustrations with modern technologies, showing that book art can develop without losing touch with traditions and preserving the "live" emotionality that the human hand is able to convey.
