Abstract
The article is focused on Mahlers musical aesthetics system and a «motion» category as its integral element. The author defines the meaning of antique philosophy and aesthetic tradition, in particular Aristotle’s musical aesthetics as well as Goethes doctrine for the formation of Mahlers views concerning the problem of the motion. Mahlers world-view and his type of attitude is determined taking into account these philosophical sights
