Abstract

The article explores new formats of Ukrainian media that emerged or transformed during Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. A comparative analysis is conducted on three popular media projects: the videopodcast "Klyati Pytannia" ("Damn Questions") by Ukrainska Pravda, the video project "Oberezhno! ZOMBOYASHCHYK!" ("Beware! The Idiot Box") by the 24 Channel, and the podcast "West-Side" by Babel. The study examines their unique features, methods of audience engagement, consumer response, and the developmental prospects of each format. "Klyati Pytannia" employs an analytical approach to discussing socio-political issues, targeting an audience seeking a deeper understanding of complex topics. "Oberezhno! ZOMBOYASHCHYK!" combines satire, fact- checking, and entertainment, making it appealing to younger audiences and those looking for an alternative way to consume news. The podcast "West-Side" expands the traditional format of foreign press reviews by providing deeper context through interviews and discussions with experts. It emphasizes analyzing how Ukraine and the Russia-Ukraine war are perceived globally and how this perception can be influenced to foster an accurate understanding of the situation. The article highlights the importance of new media formats in the context of information warfare, their impact on shaping public opinion, and their role in promoting media literacy. The analysis also identifies unresolved challenges related to the evolution of these formats, such as scaling content for international audiences, enhancing interactivity, and integrating advanced technologies. New formats of Ukrainian media, including podcasts, have become vital tools in countering informational aggression. Their themes, communication styles, and audience engagement levels contribute to the formation of new standards of media culture. Further research may focus on adapting these formats for international audiences.
