Abstract

The theses examine the trends in the development of master’s education in the European Union within the framework of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). It is emphasized that the modernization of master’s programs is driven by processes of internationalization, digitalization, and the strengthening of interdisciplinary links, in accordance with the principles of the Bologna Process, the recommendations of the European Commission, Eurydice analytics, and the ESG quality standards. The theoretical foundations of the research are outlined, highlighting the contributions of Ukrainian and foreign scholars to the development of competence-based, internationalization-oriented, and research-focused approaches to master’s training. The paper analyzes the regulatory framework for the modernization of master’s education in Ukraine, aimed at harmonization with European standards and the development of dual, research-oriented, and digital master’s programs. Key contradictions hindering the effectiveness of master’s training are identified, including the gap between academic and labor market needs, interdisciplinarity and the traditional structure of specialties. The purpose of the research is to identify European trends in master’s education and to determine the possibilities of their adaptation within the Ukrainian higher education system. It is concluded that the implementation of innovative European practices will enhance the quality of master’s education and contribute to the formation of Ukraine’s competitive human capital.
