Abstract

The article presents the theoretical foundations of child-parent relationship research in psychology. The theoretical foundations of the study are presented, drawing on the works of scientists who have studied child-parent relationships. The issue of relationships between children and their parents is one of the most complex and pressing concerns in psychology. Psychologists of all directions emphasize that the primary and necessary condition for the development of a child's personality and the formation of their inner life is the people around them, primarily their parents. From the first months of life, the child comes to know himself through relationships with his parents, and this process of not only external but also internal interaction continues throughout life. From a psychological perspective, parental attitude refers to a pedagogical social attitude towards children, encompassing rational, emotional, and behavioral components. One of the favorable types of parental attitude is acceptance of the child. In the structure of parental attitudes, three components are identified: integrated emotional acceptance or rejection of the child, the degree of interpersonal distance in communication with the child, and the form and direction of control over the child's behavior. Each dimension of parental attitude can be viewed as a combination of emotional, cognitive, and behavioral components, varying in proportion to one another. The traits and personal qualities of the parents, the physical, psychological, and sexual characteristics of the child, the attributes of marital relations, socio-cultural factors, and family traditions all contribute to the formation of a specific type of parental attitude. The emotional attitude of parents towards their child must lay the foundation for their further development. In foreign and domestic psychological research, it is generally accepted that adults are recognized as carriers of human culture, an important source of child development. An essential characteristic of development is the system of relationships between a child and adults, which they enter at each age period. It is essential to understand how various personal qualities of the mother impact the child's development.
