Abstract

The article explores the potential and challenges of using information and digital technologies to provide psychological support to the family institution during full-scale war and within the broader context of post-war recovery in Ukrainian society. The family institution is viewed as a key social unit that requires stability, adaptability, and comprehensive support from mental health professionals. Under the pressure of armed conflict, families face forced migration, the breakdown of social ties, loss of loved ones, and emotional and psychological exhaustion. In this context, digital services serve not merely as technical tools but as a new environment where psychological support is realized.The article presents a systematic review of current directions in digital support: online counseling, psychodiagnostics, mobile self-help applications, educational programs, and crisis intervention. It is noted that digital platforms ensure continuity of support regardless of the family’s location or access to offline resources. The benefits (flexibility, accessibility, scalability) and risks (ethical challenges, data vulnerability, digital inequality) of such interaction are thoroughly examined.Special attention is given to the concept of digital humanism, which is becoming increasingly relevant in the post-war period. Theories of digital humanism, including ideas of human-centered design, emphasize that technology should serve the person, not the other way around. In the context of psychological support for families, this implies the creation of digital solutions that preserve user autonomy, respect privacy, and address individual needs and values. Digital humanism advocates the integration of ethical principles into technological platforms, fostering environments thatsafeguard dignity and safety even in the most critical conditions. The importance of upholding humanistic values in digital spaces—such as trust, empathy, personalization, and respect for the dignity of the person seeking help—is emphasized. In the post-war period, digital approaches may become long-term tools for supporting families, strengthening resilience, reintegrating displaced persons, and fostering social cohesion.Thus, the article offers an interdisciplinary reflection on the digital transformation of psychological support, focusing on the family institution as a key area of application. The importance of continued research, standardization of digital interventions, specialist training, and the development of public policies based on the values ofdigital humanism is underlined.
