Abstract

The article is devoted to the current problems of the influence of hierarchies and social networks on social changes. The focus is on the productive role of innovative networks in the delegitimization of old feudal hierarchies and the spread of democratic forms of sociality. A special role is devoted to the preservation of the the human lifeworld in the conditions of real confrontation between innovation and tradition as well as hierarchical and horizontal forms of interaction in the Old and New Worlds. This study substantiates the correlation between the dimensions of social disciplining and spontaneity for the purposes of selforganization and successful development. Emphasis is placed on the innovative factors that have led to the objective weakening of hierarchies. The static social order inherent in the church hierarchy has, in the network era, been transformed into a global network of civic and educational associations. It is posited that in contemporary historical conditions, hierarchies cannot stably exist without the support of self-governing network structures at both the functional and moralnormative levels. These social structures are observed to be progressively evolving towards greater complexity and a heightened orientation towards public trust, moral-normative principles, and the establishment of civilized balances and checks and balances within society. The importance of subsidiarity between networks and hierarchies in the context of modern Ukraine is underscored. The fundamental tenets of network individualism and the moral contradictions inherent in the new digital society are subject to critical analysis. The emergence of cyberspace, a salient component of contemporary communication culture, is identified as exerting contradictory influences on the formation of the human life-world. A novel epistemological and social reality is emerging, wherein the pursuit of truth is increasingly determined not by the quality of critical analysis and rational discourse, but rather by the configurations of social algorithms. At a new historical stage, the need to strengthen critical thinking to counteract modern manipulative technologies is theoretically substantiated.
