Abstract

The article examines managerial activity as a process of decision-making under complex and dynamic conditions, where not only economic and legal aspects but also cognitive, emotional, and sociopsychological factors play a decisive role. In the modern environment, managers are increasingly expected to act effectively in situations of uncertainty, value conflicts, and high levels of risk. This makes the ability to select and flexibly adapt decision-making styles to specific circumstances a core competence for future leaders. The article therefore addresses the psychological dimensions of managerial decision-making, emphasizing their importance in the professional training of managers. The purpose of the study is to analyze the influence of psychological factors on decision-making styles and to substantiate an educational and practical framework for their integration into management training. A review of international and Ukrainian scholarly works highlights the main typologies of decision-making styles and identifies links between personality traits, thinking patterns, and managerial effectiveness. Empirical studies considered in the article demonstrate that managers’ dominant decision-making styles significantly affect creativity, resilience, and performance in organizational contexts. The discussion focuses on how cognitive biases, emotional regulation, and social interaction strategies shape managerial choices. Particular attention is paid to the balance between rational and intuitive approaches, the role of neuroticism and suggestibility, and the conditions under which participative or directive styles prove most effective. These findings are linked to the practical requirements of preparing managers for work in volatile and uncertain environments, especially under conditions of organizational instability. The author’s contribution lies in proposing a model for embedding decision-making style awareness into the curriculum for future managers. This approach suggests combining theoretical analysis with applied training, including simulations, case studies, and decision-making under uncertainty workshops. Such integration is expected to enhance managers’ adaptability, foster critical and creative thinking, and ultimately improve the quality of managerial decisions in both public administration and business. The study concludes that incorporating psychological dimensions of decision-making into management education not only strengthens professional competencies but also supports the development of leaders capable of guiding organizations through complexity and change
