Motivation of children to training in acrobatics.

Abstract

The motivation of children of primary school age to engage in acrobatics is an important aspect that affects their health, socialization and harmonious development. Studying the internal and external factors that determine children's desire to participate in sports allows improving the training process and contributing to the formation of a healthy lifestyle. The aim of the study to investigate the influence of internal and external motivators on the number of visits to acrobatics classes among children of primary school age. To study the motivational sphere of children of primary school age, a questionnaire developed on the basis of previous studies was used, which was filled out by 14 students under the supervision of trainers. Evaluation of children's motivational indicators for acrobatics classes showed that the items "I am interested in training and learning new things" (2,9 points) and "I like to achieve new goals" (2,9 points) received the highest scores. The lowest result was shown by the item "I will be ashamed if I leave" (1,0 points). Correlation analysis revealed that intrinsic motivators, such as interest in sports (coefficient 0,52), had a positive effect on regularity of attendance. Instead, motives related to self-discipline had a negative effect (-0,52). The study showed that intrinsic motivators, such as interest in sports and satisfaction from achieving results, are key factors in regular attendance of acrobatics classes by primary school children.
